WWE Reportedly Facing “Significant” Issues
According to a new report, WWE is facing significant issues, and these issues are related to talent visas.
The Stamford-based promotion has a huge chunk of wrestlers who are not from the United States. The roster includes wrestlers from all over the world.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer recently reported that WWE is dealing with “significant visa issues” right now. However, it was not mentioned which wrestlers were affected by these visa problems or how long they could be kept out of action.
The reported visa complications could have a major impact on the Stamford-based promotion. The company has been actively working to sign more talent from Mexico’s AAA promotion and provide them with U.S. work visas.
These ongoing issues could complicate that process and potentially force WWE to adjust some of its plans.
Visa Troubles Could Have Massive Consequences for WWE Programming
The situation could also affect WWE’s upcoming television shows and premium live events. The company typically plans matches and storylines weeks and months in advance. If talents are suddenly unable to travel due to visa complications, then the creative team may be forced to change directions on short notice.
Such disruptions would not be limited to a single wrestler or storyline. Changes to one planned match could create a domino effect that would then impact multiple storylines, rivalries, and event plans across WWE shows.

That said, WWE is not the only promotion dealing with visa-related issues. The same problem has also affected AEW. Komander and The Beast Mortos were recently unable to wrestle in the United States because of visa complications.
The Beast Mortos is one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions alongside Sammy Guevara. Since he was unable to return to the United States due to his visa paperwork delays, Tony Khan had to move their scheduled title defense to Mexico.
This past Friday, Guevara and Mortos successfully defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against El Hijo del Villano III and Villano III Jr. at Arena Mexico.
