Scrapped WWE Plans For Eddie Guerrero Revealed
Scrapped WWE plans for Eddie Guerrero have now come to light.
Eddie Guerrero is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He was one of the best in-ring workers in the WWE and was great at cutting a promo. Eddie was a huge inspiration to many current talents on the roster.
During his time, Eddie competed against some of the biggest names in the business. He also accomplished quite a lot in his career. Unfortunately, Eddie passed away in 2005. His passing was a big loss in the professional wrestling community. Now, several years after his passing, scrapped WWE plans for Eddie Guerrero have come to light.
During a recent interview with SoCal Val of WrestlingNewsCo, Kevin Fertig named Eddie Guerrero as one of his dream opponents and said he was supposed to wrestle the WWE legend as Mordecai.
“Eddie Guerrero. Eddie would have been the one, and I was supposed to wrestle him as Mordecai. It just never happened. I think Eddie would have been fun. Eddie would have been a lot of fun,’ said Kevin Fertig.
Former WWE star Kevin Fertig recalled a meeting he had with Vince McMahon
During the same interview, Kevin Fertig recalled a meeting he had with Vince McMahon to pitch his Mordecai character. He said that Vince stared a hole through him, and he decided to stare back. He even claimed that the former WWE Chairman reached his soul and ripped it out. Vince then told him that he was looking for singles wrestlers.
“I go and sit down in front of Vince, and he’s got his readers on, and he’s just staring a hole through me. And I was like, all right, I’m not looking away from this guy. I’m gonna try to stare back as hard as I can. I know that he’s already reached my soul somehow, and he’s ripped it out. And he’s like, okay, what do you see yourself here? And I’m like, well, me and Tomko are doing this, and I think we could do this. And he goes, no. He goes, I don’t want tag teams. I want singles wrestlers.”
It would’ve been interesting to see Eddie Guerrero feud with Mordecai back in the day.
