One Of WWE’s Biggest Stars Reportedly Set To Miss SummerSlam
A top WWE star could reportedly miss SummerSlam this year.
Ever since his WWE return, Drew McIntyre has established himself as one of the biggest stars on the roster. He went from being a jobber in his first run to becoming a World Champion in his second run with the promotion.
Drew McIntyre has been in pursuit of the WWE Championship for a while now. This set him off on a feud with Cody Rhodes that went on for several months, which saw him become Undisputed WWE Champion. After losing the title to Cody, McIntyre started feuding with Jacob Fatu for a while. Their feud culminated in an Unsanctioned match at WrestleMania 42. After losing the match, McIntyre has not been seen on TV. It was previously reported that McIntyre has taken time off TV to film for the “Highlander” movie. It was also reported that McIntyre is circling other Hollywood projects and was even announced for another film called “The Last Druid”. The shooting for the movie has already begun and will continue into the summer.
The plot of the film is as follows:
“An Emperor discovers a secluded Druid stronghold, forcing a peaceful Celtic elder to take up arms and protect his family and people from annihilation.”
Hence, it looks like Drew McIntyre could be out of WWE for a while. During a recent Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed that the former WWE Champion will not be back in time for SummerSlam.

Drew McIntyre felt better than ever going into WWE WrestleMania 42
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet that took place before WWE WrestleMania 42, Drew McIntyre revealed that he got a trainer to help him with his diet and training, which he had never done before. He noted that his new trainer, Jeff, has been pushing him to his limits. His body also felt like it was maybe time for him to retire, but thanks to his new trainer, his mobility improved, and he started feeling better.
“I decided to get a trainer who actively came to my garage and worked with me and helped me out with training and diet and the big thing, mobility, which I’ve never done, proper mobility work. I worked with Rob McIntyre for years. He’s phenomenal, but he was sending my workouts, especially when I moved to Nashville five years ago, and it was a lot more difficult not working one-on-one with him.
Having this new trainer, Jeff, coming to the garage and pushing me. He’s five foot tall, five foot wide. He’s a very angry little man, and he was pushing me through my paces. But the big difference was the mobility work. I couldn’t throw a superkick, not that I wanted to, because everybody and their mother throws a superkick these days, but I’d love to be able to and have the choice to do it, but my hips were so tight, it just wasn’t physically possible.
Things were locking up. I was aware, oh, my goodness, maybe you’re closer to the end than the beginning, not just because of your age, but because of how my body felt and going through all this mobility work. The new diet, which reduced inflammation dramatically, I not only saw a difference in how I looked on screen, but how I felt overall. I was throwing head kicks, I could literally kick Omos in the face right now, and I feel better now than I did at legitimately 30 years old.”
It remains to be seen when Drew McIntyre will make his WWE return.
