The WWE CCO Triple H seemingly confirmed that a major champion will not be at the Night of Champions 2026 PLE. The top star in discussion is none other than The OTC, Roman Reigns.

Although Roman Reigns has mostly been a part-timer in the WWE over the past few years, he has appeared on the weekly shows and PLEs almost regularly throughout this year. The OTC won the men’s Royal Rumble earlier this year and went on to capture the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk at WrestleMania 42.

Following his World title win, Roman Reigns had Jacob Fatu as his first challenger, who tried to dethrone him at Backlash and Clash in Italy but came up short on both occasions. After Jacob acknowledged Roman as his Tribal Chief, fans have been wondering who his next challenger for the World title will be. However, it was recently reported that Roman will not be at the upcoming Night of Champions PLE in Saudi Arabia, as he is not advertised.

Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that Roman has been pulled from TV dates in June because he will not be at the Saudi Arabia PLE on June 27:

Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TV’s building that show”

Triple H seemingly confirmed the rumors of the WWE World Heavyweight Champion missing Night of Champions 2026

Following the rumors and speculations, Triple H also seemingly confirmed that the current World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns will be missing out of Night of Champions 2026. Taking to the X social media platform, The Game shared the official poster for the upcoming Saudi PLE featuring top champions like Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and Trick Williams.

Reigns is not on the poster, which could be a confirmation that he will miss the PLE. Triple H also wrote the following in his post about Night of Champions 2026:

With it all on the line… @WWE Night of Champions will be LIVE Saturday, June 27 at 1pm ET. Stream on @espn app in the US / @netflix internationally.”

Meanwhile, WWE has announced on this week’s RAW that Roman Reigns will be present on the red brand next Monday. It remains to be seen what transpires when Reigns shows up on TV again.
