Sheamus Provides Major Health Update Amid 5-Month WWE Absence
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus, finally provided an update on his health. The Celtic Warrior has been out of action for months due to injury.
Sheamus has been with the WWE since 2008 and has won a number of titles, including 3 world titles during his tenure. Over the past few years, fans have highly praised The Celtic Warrior for giving great in-ring performances every week, even after the age of 45. However, the former World Heavyweight Champion has been out of action since November last year because of injury.
Sheamus’s last match happened to be on RAW in November 2025, where he teamed with Rey Mysterio and John Cena to defeat Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio of the Judgment Day in a six-man tag match. Fans have been anticipating The Celtic Warrior’s in-ring return for more than five months now. Meanwhile, a health update has finally been provided.

During his recent appearance on OTB Football, Sheamus disclosed that he noticed issues with his shoulder around May-June last year, and the pain got worse with time despite taking some shots to get rid of the pain. The Celtic Warrior also revealed that his shoulder stopped moving ultimately, which kept him out of action:
Yeah, this one has been difficult. It kind of came out of nowhere. I started noticing my shoulder around May-June at Clash in Paris against Rusev. It was bothering me and I thought I tore it. I got a couple of shots in there and it felt good for a little while, but ultimately it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me.”
Sheamus further revealed how he underwent surgery at the end of last year, and he has been rehabbing ever since. The Celtic Warrior is also dying to return to the ring:
I tried to push through it to the point where I couldn’t move my arms. I had surgery on December 30. Ever since then, I’ve been rehabbing. I’m dying to get back in the ring and back to work. I have cabin fever.” [h/t Fightful]
