Rob Van Dam Names AEW Stars He Wants To Wrestle

Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam has listed three AEW stars amongst a list of men he still wishes to battle in the squared circle.

The WWE Hall Of Famer made a handful of appearances for Tony Khan’s organisation in 2023, making a surprise appearance on the 2nd August edition of AEW Dynamite before challenging for Jack Perry’s FTW Championship the following week.

The legendary Superstar from Battle Creek, Michigan would go on to team with Hook on multiple occasions and later revealed that he would be open to further bouts with the company.

On a recent edition of his podcast, 1 Of A Kind with RVD, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion listed four men he would love to step into the ring with, including three competitors from AEW:

“I would like to wrestle some of the current wrestlers that I’ve wrestled before like Chris Jericho or maybe Christian. I know I’d have a kickass match with those guys.

I think Ricochet is cool, he’s fun to watch. Pentagon’s brother [Rey Fenix], he’s always doing something that outdoes whatever we saw last time, he’s extreme. These guys are entertaining.

I’d have a good match with anybody anyway.”

Rob Van Dam Praises AEW Star

In a previous episode of his podcast ‘1 Of A Kind’, Van Dam reserved special praise for AEW star Orange Cassidy:

“Cassidy is a version of me, you know, because he’s so laid back and relaxed and doesn’t give a f**k. I see that. When I first realized, you know, what was important to this guy, you know, his value system.

Just looking at Orange Cassidy, I was like, yeah, they took one side, one perspective of me and fu**ing really exploited it into a new character and I like it.”

Van Dam was joined in his praise of Cassidy by former AEW World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley, who compared his former rival to Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart.
