Latest On WWE Hall Of Famer Joining AEW
The latest report provided an update on a WWE Hall of Famer potentially joining AEW amid all the rumors. The legend in discussion is Mick Foley.
Mick Foley gained prominence during his time in the WWE years ago, where he created so many memorable moments. Mick last competed in the 2012 Royal Rumble match and has been out of the in-ring ever since.
Until last year, Mick Foley was also under a legends deal with the WWE. In December 2025, Foley announced that he was parting ways with the Stamford-based promotion due to political differences with the following statement:
PARTING WAYS WITH WWE
While I have been concerned about WWE‘s close relationship with Donald Trump for several months — especially in light of his administration’s ongoing cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrants (and pretty much anyone who “looks like an immigrant”) — reading the President’s incredibly cruel comments in the wake of Rob Reiner’s death is the final straw for me.”
I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy. Last night, I informed @WWE talent relations that I would not be making any appearances for the company as long as this man remains in office.”
Additionally, I will not be signing a new Legends deal when my current one expires in June. I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I am deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me. But, in the words of Popeye the sailor, “I stands all I can stands, and I can’t stands no more.”
Update on WWE Hall of Famer’s potential AEW move
After he parted ways with the WWE months ago, the Hall of Famer, Mick Foley has been rumored to be potentially joining All Elite Wrestling as well. Speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that he hasn’t heard whether it’s a done deal that Foley is heading to AEW, but Mick wants to be there:
Yes, I actually do. I mean, it’s nothing that I’ve heard. I mean, in the sense that it’s a done deal, but the way everything lays out, kind of. Yeah, I mean, I don’t know. He’s so on the road on this, doing those tour shows, those comedy shows or whatever the speaking shows, but I think he would like to, you know,” Meltzer noted. [H/T ITRWrestling]
Multiple sources say that AEW has expressed "real" interest in working with Mick Foley this year, though the capacity of which is not known.
It was also not certain whether or not the organization would be interested in signing the 60-year-old, or if it would simply be an… pic.twitter.com/hcOZ9boplR
