Cody Rhodes Trashes Roman Reigns, Makes Promise To Fans At WWE Live Event (VIDEO)

Cody Rhodes had some interesting comments about Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at a WWE live event while making a promise to the fans.

In his current position as one of the top babyfaces in WWE, Cody Rhodes has some big name rivals to deal with like the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and the former ten-time WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar.

At WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes had his shot against Reigns, but he didn’t leave with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship (WWE & Universal Titles) because Reigns cheated to win like he tends to do.

While Cody hopes to get another shot at Reigns some day and take those titles from him, he has had to deal with Brock Lesnar. Cody beat Lesnar with a clever counter move at Backlash two weeks ago, but the rivalry isn’t over because Lesnar attacked Rhodes again. It’s Cody against Brock one more time at Night of Champions this Saturday, May 27th.

At last night’s (May 20th) WWE live event in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cody Rhodes picked up the win over Finn Balor in the main event Street Fight. After the match, he did a promo taking a shot at Roman Reigns, who had previously been advertised for the event before WWE announced it was a mistake. Cody Rhodes would mention Roman’s absence as well as a promise to the fans for when he sees them again.

“My theory is that the reason that Roman Reigns didn’t want to be here is because he is afraid of me. And that theory also extends to my opponent at the Night of Champions, Brock Lesnar.”

“I’ll make you a promise. The next time I come back here, my promise is this. I hope to have defeated Brock Lesnar not just once but twice. And I also hope that I’ll be wearing some gold around my waist. Thank you, guys, very much.”
