Mistaken Roman Reigns Advert Moved A Lot Of Tickets For WWE

Roman Reigns

If anyone was still in any doubt, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is a needle mover for the company after moving a lot of tickets for a show he was mistakenly advertised for.

Roman Reigns was advertised to be part of a WWE house show in Fayetteville, North Carolina with marketing, including WWE radio advertising, building the show around The Tribal Chief. However, with a deal that limits how many live events he worked, it turned out to be too good to be true and WWE issued a statement noting that Reigns would not, in fact, be at the show.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that before the Reigns announcement WWE had sold 3,816 tickets for the event but after the news emerged Reigns was off the show, that number had jumped up to 4,521 which is a significant difference for a house show in that market. WWE did offer refunds to fans after announcing Reigns would not be present and it is unknown how many people have taken the company up on that offer.

While Roman Reigns will not be at that house show, he will be part of Night of Champions where he will team with Solo Sikoa to challenge Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
