Brandi Rhodes might well have taken a shot at AEW as she dismisses any idea that Cody Rhodes was better off staying where he was rather than rejoining WWE.
Cody Rhodes was one of the driving forces behind the formation of AEW back in early 2019 and so the wrestling world was shocked in February 2019 when it was announced that both Brandi and Cody Rhodes were leaving that promotion. But as ever in the wrestling world, not all fans were delighted by the Rhodes’ choice.
Responding on social media to the video shared by WWE of the raucous reception that Cody Rhodes received in Saudi Arabia ahead of Night of Champions, Brandi Rhodes suggests some fans forget the idea that he should’ve remained in AEW:
“And some people still say he should have stayed where he was…maybe we should let that one go for now.”
Since returning to WWE, Cody Rhodes has been a bona fide main eventer in the company. The star picked up a huge win at the 2023 Royal Rumble and headlined WrestleMania 39 where he failed to dethrone Roman Reigns as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Rhodes will be part of one of the biggest matches on the Night of Champions card as well when he goes into a fight against Brock Lesnar with a broken arm.
