Popular WWE Backstage Figure Diagnosed With Autism
WWE backstage figure Cathy Kelley has revealed that she has been diagnosed with autism.
Cathy Kelley joined WWE in February 2016. She is currently assigned to the SmackDown brand, where she plays the role of a backstage interviewer.
Kelley recently sat down for an interview with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast. During the conversation, Kelley revealed that she was recently diagnosed with autism.
She said the diagnosis helped her better understand the way she interacts with people and explained why she is naturally more introverted, both on Instagram and in her on-screen appearances.
“I think it’s just a different side to me. I was recently diagnosed with autism, and I recognize that it changes a lot of the social dynamics that I have. So when I say introverted, I feel like it’s a little bit more than a typical person would be.” [H/T Chris Van Vliet]
WWE Backstage Interviewer Cathy Kelly Had A Egg Freezing Surgery In March
Earlier this year, in March, Cathy Kelley revealed via her Instagram account that she had undergone egg freezing retrieval surgery. She noted that she had quite a busy week, juggling between the surgery and interviews, among other things. She expressed her gratitude to her team, who helped her get through the hectic week.
between egg freezing retrieval surgery, interrupted interviews, and a severe shortage of french toast sticks… it’s been a week! wouldn’t have survived it without a care team who somehow pulled off a schedule that didn’t take me out of a single day of work and truly incredible friends who kept me (semi) sane throughout (especially @lindylinphoto for weathering the anesthesia induced tears)
Kelley is currently 37 years old and thriving in WWE. Egg freezing has allowed her to pause her biological clock to focus on her career, while giving her the option to preserve her eggs and fertility for the future.
