37-Year-Old Personality Reveals She Will Never Wrestle In WWE
A popular WWE employee made it clear that she doesn’t want to wrestle in the WWE. The personality in discussion is Cathy Kelly.
Cathy Kelly joined the WWE as a backstage interviewer and TV presenter back in 2016. She later departed the company in 2020 to venture into other projects. Nevertheless, the 37-year-old returned to Sports Entertainment Juggernaut in 2022 and has been a regular on TV since then.
Earlier this year, Cathy Kelly got knocked out in a crossfire during a big brawl between Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer. Morgan has disrespected Cathy on the mic multiple times, which led to fans speculating whether Kelly could make her in-ring debut for a match against Liv as well. Meanwhile, Cathy opened up on wrestling a potential match in the WWE.
The WWE personality doesn’t want to compete in a match
During her interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insights, the WWE personality, Cathy Kelly was asked about getting knocked down during the brawl between Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer and whether it’ll lead to something. Cathy said it’s just a workplace hazard and doesn’t know if it turns into something:
I feel like that is just a workplace hazard, and I am normally pretty good about getting out of the way. Who’s to say if it’ll turn into something?”
On being asked whether she would ever have a match in the WWE, Cathy Kelly said she doesn’t want to have a match but is interested in becoming a manager:
I don’t think I would want to have a match. I’ve expressed in the past that I do want to get more involved in some capacity. I would love to be a manager. I don’t know who for. That’s been something that I’ve said for probably a decade now. I actually valeted Ryan Katz in his last match on the Indies many, many years ago. But that progression is something that I would want.”
Cathy was also asked about her training in the performance center. Kelly answered that she loves learning everything:
“I would say that I’m someone that really values growth, and I love learning everything that I can about this business. So any opportunity I can do that, I’m going to take it. Another example is I sit next to Paul Heyman every single week in Gorilla.” [H/T chrisvanvliet.com]
