Major WWE Trial Cancelled After Vince McMahon Reaches Last-Minute Deal
Former WWE boss Vince McMahon has been involved in multiple lawsuits over time.
One of his major courtroom battles involved a lawsuit over World Wrestling Entertainment’s merger with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, which came to pass in 2023.
But not everyone in the company was happy with the merger, as some shareholders filed a lawsuit and sued the company for undervaluing itself in the deal and accused Vince McMahon of prioritizing Endeavor’s bid despite receiving higher bids from the likes of Liberty Media and KKR.
The lawsuit claimed that McMahon pushed for Endeavor due to Ari Emanuel allowing him financial benefits as well as control over WWE. The plaintiffs also stated that other bidders would have pushed for McMahon’s removal from the company due to sexual assault allegations, something that the ex-WWE boss did not want.
The trial for the case was scheduled to commence on Monday at the Delaware Court of Chancery, but before it could take shape, reports claimed that the lawsuit had been cancelled.
At the time, no statement was offered as the reason behind the lawsuit being cancelled, which was confirmed by Brandon Thurston via a tweet on X.

We haven’t confirmed whether a settlement has been agreed to or is being worked on.

Vince McMahon Reaches Last-Minute Deal To Avoid Trial
A latest report reveals the reason why the WWE-UFC merger lawsuit was cancelled.
According to Front Office Sports, both parties involved in the shareholders lawsuit, including Vince McMahon, reached a lawsuit, resulting in it being pulled from the Delaware Court of Chancery.
It was also confirmed by Court Administrator Tamara Burton that the trial was called off as both parties had reached a settlement, which would be presented in the court for approval later.
Apparently, McMahon feared that the shareholders lawsuit could bring more attention to other cases, which involved sexual misconduct allegations and hush money scandals.
Meanwhile, an attorney representing the plaintiffs confirmed that the settlement had been reached, although he did not provide more details because its terms had not been made public yet.
Vince McMahon reached a last-minute settlement to avoid a trial over the 2023 merger of WWE and UFC, a case which risked making information about his sexual misconduct allegations and hush money scandals public.
While McMahon may have dodged the bullet with the shareholders lawsuit, he still faces serious accusations of sexual assault and trafficking in a case filed by ex-WWE employee Janel Grant. Additionally, he and Linda McMahon are also involved in another lawsuit from five former “Ring Boys,” who claim that the couple allowed a ring chief to sexually assault them decades ago.
