Big Concern Raised After WWE Legend Mick Foley Officially Debuts In AEW
After the WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2026, a veteran raised a major concern about the same.
After being with the WWE for years under a legends deal, Mick Foley announced last year that he no longer wanted to be associated with the Stamford-based promotion due to political reasons. Since then, there were heavy rumors and speculations that Foley could join AEW before he actually announced recently that he is officially All Elite and would be making his debut during the Double or Nothing 2026 pre-show.
During his AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2026, Mick Foley was confronted by MJF. As Max insulted Foley and tried to make fun of him, Foley clapped back by making fun of Max as well. It didn’t end well for Foley, as he received a low blow from MJF on his debut.
Former WWE personality on concerns regarding Mick Foley in AEW
Following Mick Foley’s AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2026, the former WWE head writer, Vince Russo raised concerns regarding him possibly getting in the ring as well. Foley has been away from in-ring action since he last competed in the 2012 Royal Rumble match.
Speaking on The Coach & Bro Show, Vince Russo said that Mick Foley joining AEW is awesome, but him working in the ring at this age scares him:
I think it’s absolutely awesome, Mick is awesome. I’m sure this is something he’s going to be very very excited about. The only thing that scares me a little is talking about Mick working. This is really a tough one because, you know, Mick is a legend, Mick is a legend because he worked a certain way. Obviously, he can’t work that way today but you know Coach that people are going to be expecting him to work that way today.
Russo further reflected on Foley losing 100 pounds recently and admitted that he’d be concerned if Mick wrestles a match in AEW:
He lost a 100 pounds, so it’s very, very possible that he could pull it off but um…I’m thrilled to d*ath he is there, I’m thrilled to d*ath for Mick. I just want to see if this is going to turn into a match or not. Because at that point I think I’d be a little concerned.
Fans will have to wait and see what’s next for Mick Foley in AEW after he got a low blow from MJF on his debut.
