AEW Return Not Expected Soon For Recently-Released WWE Star
The latest report suggested that a recently released WWE star will not be making an AEW return soon. Aleister Black (aka Malakai Black) is the star in discussion.
Among all the stars released by the WWE during the recent mass releases, Aleister Black was one of the most shocking names. This is the second time Black has been released from the Stamford-based promotion, as he was let go back in 2021 as well. Along with Aleister, his wife, Zelina Vega, was also among the more than 20 wrestlers released.
Following his first release in 2021, Aleister Black joined AEW and had a decent run as ‘Malakai Black,’ before his eventual departure last year. Black made his comeback to the Sports Entertainment Juggernaut, and fans were looking forward to his second run under Triple H’s creative regime this time. However, after his second release, many fans expect The Dutch Destroyer to make his return to All Elite Wrestling.
Aleister Black’s AEW return unlikely to happen soon after WWE release
According to a recent report by Wrestlevotes Radio, the belief within AEW is that Aleister Black isn’t expected to be back there soon, as people close to him also don’t expect his return in the near future:
And then a minor little nugget from the land of Elite. TC. After speaking with a source, we are told the current belief within AEW is that Aleister Black won’t be returning anytime soon. Internal chatter suggests that even those who remain close with Black would caution against expecting a return in the foreseeable future. So it looks like Malachi Black is going to remain with quotes here, dead and buried, and it is what it is. What happened there with TC, I don’t know.”
The report further stated that Black not returning to AEW soon could be a personal thing between him and some people in the company:
To me, it seems like a personality thing. I think there’s a little bit of a personality thing here… I don’t know if he comes across a certain way to some people… until you work with people, you don’t really know the full story… there’s a million different things that we don’t know conversationally that happen backstage that play into how people are slotted on the card or slotted in people’s minds moving forward.” [h/t Ringside News]
