All Elite Wrestling has confirmed an injury break for one of its top talents.

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay was brutalized by the Death Riders after their Lights Out Steel Cage Match.

The main event clash witnessed action in and outside the ring, during which an assortment of weapons was introduced by the wrestlers.

Ospreay played one of the main roles in his team’s win, which included Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Darby Allin.

Despite being bloodied, he made his presence felt during important moments, preventing his team members from being pinned or submitted.

After the match, as the 32-year-old celebrated in the ring by acknowledging his hometown crowd in London, Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley isolated him by trapping him inside the cage.

Then, they hit him with as many as five DDTs before Moxley wrapped a chair around his neck and stomped on it, as his teammates desperately tried to get inside.

The attack left Ospreay in dire need for medical assistance; after the doctors checked on him, he was stretchered out.

Will Osprey Out Indefinitely, Confirms AEW

AEW said on Wednesday that Will Ospreay will be out of action, with no definite timeline on his return.

The attack on the British star is part of the storyline, as he was already injured and set to undergo surgery. In July, his injury was said to be worse than initially expected.

A report also claimed that post-surgery, Ospreay could miss about 14 months of in-ring time.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted that the AEW star will undergo surgery soon.

For those asking about Will Ospreay’s comments about needing neck surgery on AEW Dynamite, we are told by several sources that it is 100% legitimate and he is absolutely looking at neck surgery in the near future.

Meanwhile, Will Ospreay also expressed his desire to star in an upcoming Netflix show. Read about it here.
