AEW’s Will Ospreay Seeks Acting Role In New Netflix Show
Will Ospreay feels like he would be a good fit for a new Netflix show based on a video game.
It was announced in July 2025 that Netflix will be producing a live-action show based on the popular Assassin’s Creed video game.
Fans of AEW know that the game has been mentioned numerous times on their programming, and Will Ospreay has even had some Assassin’s Creed-themed entrances and gear as well.
While speaking to Screen Off Script, Ospreay made it known that he would be interested in a role in the Assassin’s Creed show on Netflix.
“Hearing about that Netflix thing that they’ve got coming up, I think they have Assassin’s Creed Netflix TV show coming up. I really want to throw my name in the hat for that because I’ve been doing a bunch of advertising for them, I’ve been doing a bunch of promotion for them and we’ve been doing wonderful numbers for them.
If I could do that, I’d really love to throw my name in the hat to be an assassin in the tv show that might be coming out.”
Will Ospreay Hopes To Keep Wrestling The Same Way Even With Neck Injury
At the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door PPV in London, England on August 24th, Will Ospreay will take part in a Lights Out Steel Cage Match with Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, The Young Bucks and Gabe Kidd.
Going into the match, it’s no secret that Will Ospreay has a serious neck injury that could see the talented Englishman have surgery to fix the issue.
Leading up to the Forbidden Door match, Will Ospreay opened up about what he is dealing with in terms of his health.
“I got told after All In that I was gonna need to rest and take some time off to see how this is gonna go. And then the MRIs came back, and I got told this is worse than what we thought it was gonna be, but that it’s manageable. It’s absolutely fine. The surgeon even told me that it’s not going to get any worse. It just needs to be corrected.”
As for the future, Ospreay also knows that it may lead to changes for his risk-taking in-ring style.
“People that have said after this, like, there’s things that you’re gonna have to say no to and there’s things that you’re gonna have to turn tone down on with my style. And it’s not computing in my head, because I feel like I’m in good shape right now.
If there’s even the smallest chance that I’m not going to be the exact same afterwards, I’m just going to go in there (at Forbidden Door) and just be Will Ospreay for one last night.”
AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door is available on PPV, which you can watch in a number of different ways.
