How Mercedes Mone Really Benefits From AEW Move

Mercedes Mone on AEW Dynamite

Mercedes Mone will have fun in AEW.

On the March 13th episode of Dynamite, Mercedes Mone finally made her AEW debut. The star had been linked with the company for several months and actually signed her contract long before appearing on television.

For Mone, the move marks the next step of her adventure outside of WWE and spending time with NJPW and STARDOM in 2023.

Speaking in a new interview with Sports Illustrated, another former WWE star Adam Copeland discussed what Mone can expect to find in her new wrestling home.

The WWE Hall of Famer said AEW represents a new start for Mone, one she will undoubtedly enjoy.

“For her, AEW is a blank canvas with a brand new palette of paint,” said Copeland.

“For me, it was the same. I saw Swerve, The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, Claudio, FTR, all these names I’ve never crossed paths with. It’s the same with Mercedes–think of how much fun she’s going to have here. Think of all the new opponents.

I think it’s super exciting. I love that AEW is here to bring a different product to the industry. Now there’s Okada, Ospreay, Mercedes, plus all of us already here, and that makes one hell of a roster.”

During the interview, Adam Copeland admitted he nearly retired in 2023 before looking ahead to his “I Quit” Match with Christian Cage on Dynamite.

AEW Star Eyeing Clash With Mercedes Mone

With regard to Mone’s future, she’s already a woman in demand.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Thunder Rosa said she can’t wait to face Mercedes Mone. Rosa is a former Women’s Champion having wrestled in some of the most famous matches in AEW history.

Thunder Rosa will be in action on the March 20th episode of Dynamite when she teams with Deonna Purrazzo to take on current Women’s Champion Toni Storm and Mariah May.
