Hall Of Famer In Shock Talks With WWE

Triple H shouting WWE

A surprise name is in talks with WWE.

In a stunning move, Jesse Ventura has revealed he’s speaking to WWE. Ventura rose to fame as a wrestler in the 1970s before moving to the WWF at the start of the following decade. However, the veteran is best known for his commentary alongside Gorilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon in the wake of his retirement.

Ventura famously clashed with McMahon over royalties after being led to believe that only featured performers on WWF videotapes earned royalties back in 1987. In 1991, Ventura brought legal action against Titan Sports — the WWF’s parent company, and eventually won.

The star went on to enjoy further success as a politician and in Hollywood, eventually returning to the WWF in 1999. Ventura was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 and made his most recent appearance for the company in 2009.

However, speaking on The Vanguard, Ventura said with Vince McMahon now gone, he’s back in talks with the sports entertainment giant.

“I will tell you this, now that wrestling has chosen this new direction, shall we call it. Jesse Ventura is in talks with them. It required them going in this new direction. I hope you get what I’m saying about the new direction. The direction the company is now going was good enough for Jesse Ventura and the WWE to begin talking again,”

Another WWE Hall Of Famer Open To Return

The comments by Ventura come after Rob Van Dam admitted he’d be open to wrestling in WWE again before he retires.

The Hall of Famer said he’d be open to returning to WWE if the company approached him, although he’s unlikely to make the first move.
