Dave Meltzer AEW Dynasty 2024 Match Ratings

Swerve Strickland with the AEW World Championship

What did Dave Meltzer make of the action at AEW Dynasty?

April 21st was a banner night in the history of AEW as the company crowned its first-ever Black World Champion. In the main event, Swerve Strickland got the better of Samoa Joe to win the richest prize in the company.

Elsewhere, Will Ospreay defeated Bryan Danielson in a match many have called one of the greatest to ever take place in North America.

The event also saw the shock return of Jack Perry who had been absent from AEW since getting into a backstage altercation with CM Punk back at All In. At Dynasty, Perry entered through the crowd to help the Young Bucks win the World Tag Team Titles in their match with FTR. After pushing Daz Harwood from a ladder, Perry was tackled by security who removed his mask.
