WWE News: “Road to Evolution” Special Airing on USA Network After Monday’s Raw

TJR Wrestling

The next major WWE pay-per-view is a historic one as the company will be running their first ever all-women’s show on October 28 called Evolution. It takes place at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York with a start time of 7pmET/4pmET on WWE Network.

To get fans more excited about Evolution, Deadline is reporting that USA Network will be airing a special show called “Road to Evolution” this coming Monday, October 22, after Raw airs. Raw usually goes off the air around 11:08pmET.

According to Deadline: “The special looks back on the women who helped make WWE so popular, featuring stars from the past, present and future coming together to celebrate a new chapter in the venerable pro wrestling franchise. E! will air Road to Evolution at 10 PM Wednesday.”

Here’s more info from WWE.com about the special:

Immediately following Raw this Monday on USA Network, a new special, “Road to Evolution,” will chronicle the journey to the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event, WWE Evolution. The special will look back on the groundbreaking Women’s Evolution in WWE, featuring Superstars of the past, present and future coming together to celebrate a new chapter in WWE history.

The “Road to Evolution” special will also air on E! on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 10/9 C following the latest episode of Total Divas.

Don’t miss an exclusive look at how WWE Evolution took shape before all the action kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 7/6 C, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network!

The surprising thing about it is that it wasn’t mentioned earlier in the week during Raw or Smackdown, so maybe it was just something set up in the last week. You would think that if it was planned all along then WWE would have talked about it a lot more with Stephanie McMahon tweeting about it 40 times a day.

Here’s the lineup for Evolution on October 28, which I posted about yesterday.

Raw Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Nikki Bella

Smackdown Women’s Championship Last Woman Standing: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair – That’s the main event to me, but WWE may put the Rousey match on last.

Trish Stratus and Lita vs. Mickie James and Alexa Bliss

NXT Women’s Championship: Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler

Battle Royal for a future Championship match – Names include: Nia Jax, Dana Brooke, Alicia Fox, Ember Moon, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Tamina, Asuka, Mandy Rose, Carmella, Lana, Sonya Deville, Naomi and Torrie Wilson

Mae Young Classic Tournament Final – I won’t list the names because that’s a spoiler.

NXT UK Championship Match – I won’t list a spoiler here either.

I assume Sasha Banks, Bayley and Natalya vs. The Riott Squad will be added as well.
