The Rock May Never Return To WWE For One Reason
The WWE Universe has been dying to see The Rock return to WWE, but according to a veteran, that might never happen.
The People’s Champion was last seen at Elimination Chamber 2025, where he showed up to coerce Cody Rhodes into selling his soul to him. Cody didn’t do it, but John Cena sold his soul to The Brahma Bull instead.
It marked Cena’s heel turn in over two decades and one of the major rivalries of his retirement tour. Fans hoped that The Great One would play a significant part in Cena’s rivalry with Cody, but that didn’t happen. After Elimination Chamber, The Rock never returned to WWE, and Travis Scott filled in for him at WrestleMania 41.
WrestleMania 43 is going to take place in Saudi Arabia next year. It will be the first time in history that WWE WrestleMania will take place outside North America.
It is rumored that the Saudis will write a big check to The Rock to persuade him to wrestle in their country. However, Dutch Mantell is doubtful that Rocky may ever return to WWE.
The Rock’s Hollywood Success Might Hamper His Return To WWE
Speaking in a new episode of his Story Time podcast, Dutch Mantell claimed that The Rock wouldn’t want to return to WWE because he’s making a fortune in Hollywood.
Mantell argued that the 54-year-old megastar would be highly successful if he returned to WWE, but still, it wouldn’t match the level of success he’s garnered by making blockbuster movies in Hollywood.
I think if they did bring him (The Rock) back for like a year or year and a half. But he’s making so much money now, I don’t think he wants to do it (I think he loves acting more than wrestling). Yeah, I think he does too.
I think if he came back to wrestling, he’d be a big success. Since you tell me he’s 54, that bell is ringing for him in the acting career too. He cannot. He’s made some movies that were big box office hits, and he’s had a lot of sellouts in WWE.”
