WWE Talent Facing Fight To Keep Role In Company

Corey Graves Kevin Patrick WWE

WWE commentary has been shaken up again in recent weeks, leaving one announcer having to prove they’ve got what it takes to keep their role.

Long-time WWE executive Kevin Dunn recently quit, ending his forty-year association with the company and allowing for a change at the very top of the TV production side of things.

There has been a shake-up in broadcast teams on Raw and SmackDown since Dunn’s departure with two-man announce teams now in effect on both shows. Michael Cole is once again exclusive to Monday Night Raw where he calls the action with Wade Barrett. SmackDown is on the move from FOX in late 2024 but until then it seems that show will be called by the duo of Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick. And it seems one of the announce team could be facing a battle to stay at the desk.

Kevin Patrick In The WWE Spotlight

PWInsider has reported that there are people in WWE keen to see how Kevin Patrick copes on SmackDown without Michael Cole at the desk with him again. There is believed to be a feeling among some that Patrick has to step up his game as a commentator if he wants to continue in that role.

Patrick joined WWE in the spring of 2021 and has worked as a backstage interviewer as well as the lead commentator on Raw, as well as hosting Raw Talk.
