WWE Star Picks Up First Raw Singles Win In 6 Years

One WWE star had more reason to celebrate than most after Monday Night Raw.

The issues between The Miz and LA Knight continued on Raw as Knight caused as much disruption as he could for the former WWE Champion when he faced Akira Tozawa.

LA Knight joined the commentary team on the show and proved to be a constant distraction to The Miz throughout the bout. The Miz couldn’t shake off Knight to focus fully on his opponent and that gave Akira Tozawa the chance to pick up a very rare win on television.

Tozawa was part of the 24/7 Title scene on Raw during that title’s heyday but as far as a standard one-on-one match in the ring, the win over The Miz was Tozawa’s first victory on Raw in six years. The last time he found success was back on August 14th, 2017 when he defeated Neville (now better known as PAC in AEW) for the Cruiserweight Championship.

What else happened on WWE Raw?

Raw in Quebec City saw Kevin Owens return to WWE television following his injury issues as he teamed with Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes to defeat The Judgment Day.

GUNTHER retained his Intercontinental Title as his quest for a record-setting reign continued but he did suffer his first singles loss on the WWE main roster as Chad Gable defeated The Ring General by count out.
