Backstage News On WWE Planning More Returns

Karrion Kross WWE SmackDown

It’s a new era of WWE full of change with Triple running WWE Creative and because of that change, several familiar faces have returned to the company with apparently more on the way.

When Vince McMahon retired on July 22 and Paul Levesque (Triple H) took his job as the man running WWE’s main roster shows, fans wondered if that meant some released superstars may return to the company.

Since SummerSlam took place on July 30, WWE has had several talented wrestlers return including the once-released Dakota Kai while the former Io Shirai has now been promoted to Raw under the name of IYO SKY. Prior to that, there were reports that SKY might have left WWE when her contract expired, but now that Triple H is in charge, she is a big part of the women’s division moving forward.

There were more returns over the last week with two-time NXT Champion Karrion Kross returning to WWE with his wife Scarlett on last week’s Smackdown. Meanwhile, at the end of Raw, former NXT wrestler Dexter Lumis was seen being pulled away from the ring after a mysterious car crash was shown earlier in the night.

In addition to those returns, it has been reported that former NXT wrestler Top Dolla (AJ Francis) will reportedly be at Smackdown this week. Top Dolla was a part of the popular group called “Hit Row” along with Swerve Strickland, Ashante “Thee” Adonis and B-Fab. The group was promoted to Smackdown in October 2021 and then released one month after for some reason.

A new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has noted that a source has stated that “the returns aren’t stopping soon.” While the report did not specify who may return, it will lead to fans speculating who may be coming back to WWE.

There have been reports of former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks & Naomi reaching an agreement to return to WWE, but there has been no confirmation yet.

The best thing fans can do is keep watching the shows and see who the next familiar face is to come back “home” to WWE.
