A legend has given his thoughts on The Rock potentially buying WWE.

The Rock is widely regarded as one of the greatest WWE stars of all time. At the peak of his career, the Great One was a massive box office draw for the company. After his first run in the promotion ended, The Rock leveraged his stock to secure himself a position in Hollywood.

Since then, there has been no looking back for The Final Boss. Over the years, The Rock has appeared in some massive Hollywood projects while also making sporadic appearances on WWE TV. A few years ago, The Great One was added to TKO’s board of directors, making him a part of the leadership team. Recently, the topic has come up of The Final Boss’ Seven Bucks Productions possibly buying WWE someday. Mark Henry has given his thoughts about this.

Mark Henry thinks it would be awesome to see The Rock buy WWE

During a recent interview with PWMania, Mark Henry said that it would be awesome to see a wrestler take ownership of a professional wrestling company. However, he also made it clear that just because The Rock was a great talent, it doesn’t mean that he would be the best person to run the company. He also drew a comparison with Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Larry Bird, who did not make great coaches despite being great players.

“I think that it would be awesome. To see a wrestler that we shared the locker room with be one of the heads, if not the head, of the ownership group that owns a pro wrestling company would be amazing.

But that also would be saying that you don’t like TKO running it, that you don’t want nobody else to run it, that you want The Rock to run it and I don’t know if that’s feasible. As good as The Rock is as a talent, it doesn’t make him the best coach. Look at Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird – three of the best NBA basketball players of all time. All of them had losing records as coaches. When you step into a different role, you must have a certain temperament and expectation for the talent and where you want that talent to go, as opposed to, ‘Hey, The Rock did it, do better than him’. That just doesn’t make sense.” [H/T PWMania.com]

It will be interesting to see The Rock in charge of WWE.
