Tiffany Stratton Reveals What Role She Prefers In WWE

Tiffany Stratton has a preference for a role in WWE – babyface or heel?

The current WWE Women’s United States Champion, Tiffany Stratton, has undergone some changes in her character.

When Stratton was in NXT, she was a bratty, rich heel who eventually became the NXT Women’s Champion. Stratton was in that heel role when she also had a memorable rivalry with Becky Lynch in NXT.

On the main roster, Stratton started out as a heel ally of Nia Jax, but would turn on her in January 2025 when she cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase to be the WWE Women’s Champion for the first time. Stratton held the Women’s Title for 10 months as a babyface.

Now that she’s established on the main roster, Tiffany Stratton has solidified her role as one of the top babyface women on the SmackDown brand, alongside Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and others.

In her current story as the Women’s United States Champion, Stratton has finally accepted Chelsea Green as an ally, even though Green has been a rival in the past.

During an interview with Maxx Fuller, Tiffany Stratton said she didn’t mind being a face or a heel, but she prefers being a heel.

“You know, I think I like both. I think it comes in waves, you know, where being the good guy, it kind of gets a little stale and I do think naturally I am more of a heel, natural heel. That is how I learned wrestling, fun fact. I learned wrestling as a heel. So like I just feel like that’s my roots.

So maybe one day we’ll go back to that. You’ll have to, you know, keep watching SmackDown to see.

But yeah, I think I like both. But I will say I do like being heel a little bit a little bit better. It’s a lot less pressure. It’s a lot more fun.” (H/T Ringsidenews)

Tiffany Stratton Nearly Had A Different WWE Name

Like most WWE superstars, Tiffany Stratton has a trademarked stage name when she wrestles. The 27-year-old former gymnast signed with WWE in August 2021 and quickly became a regular in NXT by the end of that year.

Recently, Tiffany Stratton revealed that she almost had another name in WWE – Veronica Swanson.

“So, it was between Tiffany Stratton or Veronica Swanson. Do you guys think I look like a Veronica? Veronica Swanson.

But the name I would like, I actually thought about this a long time ago and I’m like, ‘Why didn’t I put it down?’ – I thought about doing the name Darby, so I could be the Darby Doll, but I don’t think they would have gone for that.

I’m really happy (with Tiffany Stratton). It’s my mom’s name, I like the name Tiffany a lot.”

Considering Tiffany is her mother’s name, it sounds like Stratton is happy with the name choice. Sorry, Veronica Swanson. Perhaps that can be a future WWE superstar.
