WWE News: Two More Teams Announced For Mixed Match Challenge

TJR Wrestling

Two more teams were announced for WWE’s Mixed Match Challenge today. The show, which features WWE male superstars teaming with female superstars in mixed tag matches, debuts next Tuesday, January 16 at 10pmET on Facebook.

The two teams announced from the Raw brand today are The Miz tagging with Asuka and Goldust teaming up with Alicia Fox.

Here are some comments from The Miz talking about how excited he is about teaming with Asuka. The video also features Asuka, who was in her ring gear already.

I think they should be considered favorites to win the tournament.

The other teams already announced in the tournament are.

Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss (Raw)
Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair (Smackdown)
Finn Balor and Sasha Banks (Raw)
Jimmy Uso and Naomi (Smackdown)
Apollo Crews and Nia Jax (Raw)
Rusev and Lana (Smackdown)

What is the Mixed Match Challenge? Here’s the explanation from WWE:

A new in-ring competition show featuring 24 of the most athletic and charismatic male and female Superstars from the brands of Raw and SmackDown. This show, entitled WWE Mixed Match Challenge, will feature a mixed tag team match every week with one team from Raw and one team from SmackDown LIVE competing over 12 weeks to establish a winner. Each showdown in the competition will follow traditional Mixed Tag Team Match rules: When tagged, male Superstars face off with the opposing team’s male competitor and female Superstars battle fellow female competitors. This interactive and innovative Facebook experience will take viewers both in the ring and behind-the-scenes every day of the week until elimination, offering an in-depth look at all the competitors.

The winners of the tournament “receive” $100,000 for the charity of their choice.

No WWE news update post from me today. I’ll be back with it tomorrow as well as the Raw Deal review.
