Darby Allin has been one of AEW’s most popular stars ever since the promotion’s inception. He was one of the four pillars of the promotion and has become one of the top stars in the company.

Since his feud with the Death Riders ended in December, he has been feuding with Gabe Kidd on Dynamite. The two seem to be at each other’s throats constantly and attack each other brutally.

Last week on Dynamite, Gabe Kidd defeated Orange Cassidy before attacking him, prompting Darby Allin to come to his rescue, which set up their tag team matches tonight.

David Finlay makes his AEW return tonight

Cassidy and Allin took on Gabe Kidd and Clarke Connors tonight, and both teams wrestled an extremely brutal and competitive match. The Freshly Squeezed remained a bystander for much of the match as Kidd and Connors separated Allin from his partner.

They assaulted Allin for a long while before Cassidy tagged in and turned the tide. Eventually, Cassidy and Allin earned their win against Kidd and Connors, but weren’t able to celebrate their win for long on AEW Dynamite.

The winning duo was almost immediately attacked by David Finlay, son of WWE Legend Fit Finlay. The former IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion attacked Cassidy and Allin with his Shillelagh, joining forces with his former Unbound Co. stablemates, Kidd and Connors, to form The Dogs in AEW.
