WWE Legend Says Every Wrestling Fan Should Thank Vince McMahon
A WWE Hall of Famer believes that every wrestling fan in the world should be thanking Vince McMahon for his contributions. The legend in question is none other than Ric Flair.
Vince McMahon is a name that needs no introduction for the pro wrestling fans all over the world. Vince took over the WWE back in the 1980s and went on to make it a Global juggernaut. McMahon also won the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990s and went on to acquire WCW and ECW, and expanded his brand even further. In 2022, Vince announced his retirement as the head booker following some heinous s*xual allegations against him.
Although McMahon is no longer associated with the WWE, he remains a topic of discussion among wrestling fans for his history and contributions to the wrestling world over the decades. Meanwhile, Ric Flair has some high praise for Vinnie Mac as well.
Ric Flair urged every wrestling fan to thank the former WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon
During his recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Ric Flair reflected on Vince McMahon’s immense contribution to pro wrestling, saying Vince should be thanked by everybody in the world who likes pro wrestling today:
Everybody in the world that likes wrestling should be thanking Vince McMahon,” Flair said.
Ric Flair was also asked by Ariel Helwani whether he had spoken to McMahon recently. The Nature Boy revealed that he hasn’t spoken to Vince while disclosing how Vinnie Mac lent him $800,000 to help him get through divorces. Flair also assured that he paid Vince back despite many people making an issue out of it:
No, I haven’t. feel like there’s so much going on that I would be wasting his time. He knows how I feel about him. He lent me 800 grand, and unlike what people portray, it was not for the IRS. It was to help me get through three divorces at one time. But the thing of it is, they hate hearing this. I paid him back every dime. When he called me and said, ‘I can write this off,’ I paid him back because I didn’t want to let him down, but they used that against me.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
