WWE Star Fears For His Future Amid Releases Under Triple H: “Anyone Can Be Let Go”
A rising young WWE superstar knows that anybody could be cut from Triple H’s roster at any time.
The post-WrestleMania WWE cuts have led many fans to express their discontent with WWE management.
After all, WWE is bragging about record profits constantly, yet they are apparently asking talents to renegotiate contracts, with Fightful Select reporting on the matter.
The day of the mass releases, WWE approached numerous talent and asked them to take pay cuts in order to remain with the company.
Several of them that we heard about were given two days to make that decision.
When it comes to talent cuts, they are made by a team of WWE executives, like Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE President Nick Khan, and others.
Another story noted that the WWE management team told a wrestler to take a significant pay cut, and that person allegedly said yes, according to PWInsider.
“A pretty majorly pushed talent was reportedly asked to take a 50% pay cut last week and allegedly did. The name of the talent is unknown as it cannot be confirmed 100% that this was the case, but the timing of that claim was interesting as it took place a day before news broke of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods’ departure.”
The names of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have gotten a lot of attention since they worked for WWE for 20 and 16 years, respectively. They are both future Hall of Famers who were told to take a pay cut; they didn’t want to do that, and now they are both set to be free agents in less than 90 days.
It has led many people to wonder if loyal wrestlers like that can get cut then it can happen to anybody.
WWE NXT Rising Star Knows “You’ve Gotta Earn Everything”
Kam Hendrix is a newcomer on the WWE NXT brand, but he’s also been part of the WWE LFG show on A&E using his real name, Anthony Luke. Hendrix, who is married to WWE’s Maxxine Dupri, has been featured on NXT TV the last two weeks as a guy who has attacked top stars on the brand like Tony D’Angelo.
In a WWE video, Hendrix made some interesting remarks that make it clear he knows that nobody is given anything in WWE, and you have to earn what you get.
“Every day, even before filming LFG, I felt like the clock was ticking on me. I know that this place has a time limit and nobody can be here forever.
I know that this whole thing, everything I ever worked for, can be taken from me.
If you’re not evolving as a Superstar, evolving as a character, anyone can be let go. Anyone can be cut for any reason they want.
This is subjective at the end of the day. Nobody deserves anything, you’ve gotta earn everything.”
WWE LFG airs Sunday nights on A&E, and the show is in its third season with Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, Kevin Owens, and Natalya/Nattie as the coaches.
