The former WWE Divas Champion, Nikki Bella provided a major update on her injury and potential in-ring return.

Nikki Bella started her pro wrestling career by joining the WWE’s developmental territory, FCW, back in 2007. She went on to become one of the biggest stars during the Divas era, winning the Divas Championship twice as well. Over the past few years, Nikki has been making sporadic in-ring appearances. At the Royal Rumble this year, Nikki reunited with her sister Brie Bella.

The Bella Twins were slated to compete in the four-way match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 42. However, Nikki Bella was revealed to be injured at Mania, and had to be replaced by a returning Paige. It’s been three months, and Nikki is still out of action due to injury. Meanwhile, the former Divas Champion has provided a huge update.

Speaking on the recent edition of The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki Bella revealed that it’s been over three months since her surgery and doctors told her that she’s fine, and she is also excited to come back:

I’m excited to come back. I’ve been working hard. It’s been three months since surgery. I was squatting at two. The bones were so broken and they’re like, ‘You’re fine.’ I’m like, ‘All right.’ They’re like, ‘Just go up and down.’ I’m like, ‘All right, up and down…’”

Nikki Bella also disclosed the procedure to get cleared in the performance center and how it’s going well:

When I went to the PC to get cleared, they’re like, ‘You look like a Nike commercial.’ Because everything, like, if they wanted me to sprint, it was 110 percent sprinting and just doing all the things because I wanted to prove how good I was. Like, jumping high. But then it was funny because they go, ‘Okay, now go to the top turnbuckle and just like jump in the middle.’”

Because they wanted to see how much — that messed me up a little bit. Like I got up there and I’m like, no, I’m going to break my ankle again. I’m like, if I re-break my ankle — [but] I was good. I was good.” [h/t f4wonline.com]

Fans will have to wait and see when the former Divas Champion will be back in in-ring action.
