WWE Star Paige Addresses Huge Leak: “We Got So Frustrated”
The former WWE Divas Champion, Paige recalled her frustration regarding a massive leak earlier this year.
Paige gained prominence during her first run in the WWE from 2012 to 2017. She also made a move to AEW in 2022 for a brief run until her departure last year. At WrestleMania 42, the former Divas Champion made her highly anticipated return to the Stamford-based promotion, as she showed up as Brie Bella’s partner, replacing Nikki Bella, to capture the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Following her return, Paige also said that she doesn’t think she would be wrestling after this current run:
I came in this time with a mindset where I just want to be happy and have fun, because I don’t think I’m going to be wrestling after this run. I want to just enjoy my time that I have here, embrace absolutely everything, just enjoy the journey. That’s all I care about.”
Paige on getting frustrated about a WWE leak
During her appearance on The Nikki & Brie Show recently, Paige revealed how Triple H called her to ask her to return at WrestleMania 42 in order to replace Nikki Bella in the Women’s tag title match:
It was crazy because it was Hunter, Triple H, calling me. We were already in talks about potentially doing something maybe, but it was very last second where they’re like, ‘Can you come to Mania and take Nikki’s place for a second?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure.’”
Paige also recalled that she was going for a signing on the day of WrestleMania 42 while people were guessing about her return, and WWE pulled her from signing, which apparently leaked her return, and she was frustrated about that:
Everyone was kind of guessing. Everyone was just like, ‘Oh, Nikki’s hurt. The only person I could potentially replace would be Paige, right?’ So people were starting to guess.”
Then the day of Mania I was supposed to go to a signing, and then at the last second they pulled the signing and got me to go to Mania. And I was like, ‘Well, that gives it away then, because I had to cancel the signing.’ We got so frustrated, you guys, because it leaked the day before.” [h/t ewrestlingnews.com]
At Saturday Night’s Main Event recently, Paige and Brie lost their tag titles to Fatal Influence after being champions for three months.
