Mastermind Behind Blockbuster Roman Reigns Segment In WWE Is…

The mastermind behind a recent Roman Reigns segment has been revealed.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are no strangers to each other. Both of them started their main roster careers at the same time and grew to become two of the biggest stars in the company.

They started their WWE run in The Shield, which became one of the most dominant factions in history. However, things have not been the same for them ever since Seth turned on Roman and Dean Ambrose. Hence, both men have been at loggerheads with each other for several years. The Visionary played a key role in helping Cody Rhodes dethrone Roman at WrestleMania 40. Now at SummerSlam 2026, Roman Reigns will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins. Although their match is in a few weeks, both men can’t stop themselves from trying to get the better of each other.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Roman Reigns showed up with Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks. Reigns handed a custom World Title belt to the NBA star. However. Seth Rollins’ music suddenly hit, and out came Tyrese Haliburton with a steel chair in hand. Rollins then ambushed Reigns from behind. As The Visionary was getting ready to hit The Stomp on Reigns onto the steel chair, Jalen Brunson came in between him and The OTC. This allowed Reigns enough time to recover and hit Rollins with a Superman punch. The OTC then followed it up with a spear, thereby sending Rollins rolling out of the ring in pain.

Triple H was the one behind the Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins segment from Saturday Night’s Main Event

During a recent Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed that the Roman Reigns segment was Triple H’s idea. The Game pitched the idea involving Roman, Seth, Jalen Brunson, and Tyrese Haliburton. Despite how the segment was initially received, it ended up happening.

“Triple H had an idea for the show. His idea was, quote, ‘What if Haliburton went out with Seth and they just like tried to fight Roman and Jalen?’ And at the time when Hunter pitched this, people were like, ‘I hear you.’ And it ended up happening.” [H/T Ringside News]

It remains to be seen if Roman Reigns will be able to retain his title against Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
