Huge Revelation On Sheamus’ WWE Contract Expiry – Reports

A new report provided an update on the WWE contract expiration date of Sheamus.

It was recently revealed that Sheamus is on his way out of the WWE after 19 years in the company. Since the news broke, fans have already begun speculating about The Celtic Warrior’s potential future, and he was even rumored to be heading to All Elite Wrestling.

However, a new report by Fightful Select revealed that Sheamus is not a free agent yet. As per the report, The Celtic Warrior refused a restructured deal by the WWE, which wasn’t an ultimatum deal, and decided to leave the company instead.

Sheamus is slated to become a free agent by October 1, 2026, according to the report. It was also speculated that the 48-year-old veteran may have a 90-day termination period on his contract, which will end on October 1.

Hall of Famer defended WWE amid Sheamus’ departure from the company

The WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T recently defended the Stamford-based promotion against the criticism regarding Sheamus’ departure from the company.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said we’re in a different time and there is life expectancy to everyting, citing Sheamus’ departure:

What did I say about talent in the WWE just about a month or so ago? I said, man, we’re in a different time now. It ain’t like it was back in the day when it was the attitude era, when you think guys are going to be around for a hundred years. When I hear the term lifer, [people say], ‘Oh, well, I thought he was going to be a lifer.’”

There’s a life expectancy in everything. I’ve heard these podcasters, people talking about this could be a problem. Sheamus is 48 years old, okay? Sheamus started in the WWE in 2007 in the FCW program. He started on the main roster in 2009. This guy’s had a damn near 20 year career as a professional wrestler in one company.”

Booker T also believes that Sheamus could go on and make money depsite WWE departure:

Someone like Sheamus, four time world champion, he’s put in his work. The thing is, if Sheamus left WWE, he still can go ahead and make money and still do this thing for however many more years he actually wants to do it, if he actually wants to do it. When I hear people literally trying to make WWE the bad guy when somebody gets released, laid off, or fired — that happens in any corporation. It really does.”

Only time will tell what the future holds for The Celtic Warrior.
