Nick Aldis Breaks Silence After Taking Out Gunther At WWE SNME

Nick Aldis took out Gunther at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Nick Aldis became the General Manager of WWE SmackDown a few years ago. Since becoming the GM, Aldis has had to put up with a lot of stressful events. He first had to deal with The Bloodline on the blue brand, which wasn’t fun for him.

Now, in the last few weeks, Gunther has been giving him problems. After Gunther lost at WWE Night of Champions 2026, he got into a physical altercation with Nick Aldis. As a result, the Ring General was suspended, and Aldis was put on administrative leave for a bit. Last week on SmackDown, Nick booked a WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes for SummerSlam. This decision infuriated the Ring General, and he warned Aldis that he had till the end of the show to make things right. Therefore, Aldis booked a tag team match for Saturday Night’s Main Event where Gunther will team with Sami Zayn against CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. This upset the Ring General further, and he brutally assaulted the SmackDown GM. This week on the blue brand, Adam Pearce informed Gunther that Nick Aldis had added a stipulation to the tag team match where if he and Sami won, they would be added to the WWE Title match at SummerSlam, making it a fatal four-way. This made the Ring General happy.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Gunther had the match won when Nick Aldis showed up and pulled the referee out of the ring, thereby preventing him from counting the pinfall. When the Ring General confronted him, Aldis hit him with the WWE Title. This allowed CM Punk to hit the GTS on the Ring General. Punk then pulled Cody Rhodes into the cover, and he got the pinfall for his team.

Nick Aldis has finally reacted after costing Gunther an Undisputed WWE Championship match at WWE SummerSlam

Following Saturday Night’s Main Event, Nick Aldis took to social media and reacted to a clip of him costing Gunther the match. His caption clearly indicates that he is proud of what he did.

“Damn right it did.”
