Michael Cole Embarrassingly Botches Lionel Messi’s Name At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Michael Cole made an embarrassing botch during WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and was instantly called out for it.

JD McDonagh is scheduled to fight Danhausen in a Street Fight tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Judgment Day member was escorted to the ring by his teammates, Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan.

Earlier today, the Women’s World Champion called herself the Lionel Messi of WWE in an interview with Sports Illustrated when asked who was the equivalent to the soccer legend in the Stamford-based company.

Michael Cole Mispronounces Lionel Messi’s Name At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

As Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio walked to the ring with JD McDonagh during tonight’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, Michael Cole mentioned the Women’s World Champion’s comments about being the Lionel Messi of WWE. However, the legendary commentator mispronounced the Argentinian star’s name.

Wade Barrett immediately called Cole out on his botch, correcting the pronunciation and mocking him for his lack of soccer knowledge. The veteran and his partner then laughed it off.
