Updated Lineup for WWE Elimination Chamber on March 8 – Tag Team Title Match and 3 on 1 Match Added

TJR Wrestling

There are three official matches for the WWE Elimination Chamber PPV that takes place in just eight days on Sunday, March 8th in Philadelphia. That means there is only one episode of Raw and one more episode of Smackdown where WWE will be able to promote this show.

What’s interesting about the show now is there appears to be no men’s Smackdown Elimination Chamber match. You may recall that on February 11 WWE sent out advertising for six male wrestlers in an Elimination Chamber match. That’s not happening now.

In another example of WWE changing their plans often, Sheamus did a promo last week on Smackdown saying he was going to be in the Elimination Chamber match.

However, that match is likely not happening now. Sheamus also wasn’t on Smackdown this week. The assumption was that Roman Reigns was going to win the Chamber match to face the Universal Champion at WrestleMania. Last night on Smackdown, Reigns simply went up to Goldberg, said “I’m next” and now it’s Reigns challenging Goldberg for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

We still don’t know if there be a women’s Elimination Chamber featuring the women from Smackdown. Last week, Lacey Evans did an interview saying she was going to win the women’s Elimination Chamber match, but that hasn’t been announced. Smackdown does have a pretty good women’s division with six possible contenders although right now we just don’t know if it’s going to happen.

What we do know is there are two Elimination Chamber matches for sure. One of them will involve the women of Raw with the winner of that match challenging Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. The other Elimination Chamber match will see The Miz and John Morrison defending their Smackdown Tag Team Titles against five teams from Smackdown.

With WrestleMania taking place on April 6, it’s very likely that some of WWE’s biggest names won’t be wrestling on this show.

Here’s the lineup so far.

Women’s Elimination Chamber Match (Raw): Asuka vs. Natalya vs. Ruby Riott vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Sarah Logan vs. Liv Morgan – The winner will challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

Intercontinental Championship: Braun Strowman (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn

Elimination Chamber Match for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles: The Miz and John Morrison (c) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) vs. The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) vs. Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler vs. Heavy Machinery (Otis & Tucker) vs. Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado – two of them)

You can watch Elimination Chamber on WWE Network on Sunday, March 8th.
