Top Star’s AEW Contract Expiring – Reports

According to the latest report, a former TNT Champion’s contract with AEW is about to expire soon. The star in discussion is Jack Perry.

Jack Perry has been a part of the AEW roster since the company’s inception in 2019. During his tenure, Perry has been a former Tag Team Champion, FTW Champion, TNT Champion, and National Champion. He last competed in the ongoing Owen Hart Foundation men’s tournament quarter finals last month on Dynamite, where he was defeated by Mark Davis.

Amid his absence from TV for the past few weeks, fans have been wondering what the next creative direction is for Jack Perry. Meanwhile, a new report has come up regarding Perry’s AEW future.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer recently reported that Jack Perry’s current AEW contract is nearing expiry. Alvarez also noted that Perry is negotiating a potential new deal as of now.

AEW star on his change after the infamous CM Punk incident

Back at All In 2023, the AEW star, Jack Perry took a shot at CM Punk, which resulted in a backstage altercation between the two. Punk was terminated, and Perry was off TV for months following the incident.

Speaking on Close Up with Renee Paquette in December last year, Jack Perry admitted that he has grown from the incident with Punk without even mentioning Punk and revealed what people told him after that:

I feel like I’ve grown a lot from it, but I feel like the growth came from a lot of it sounds dramatic to say pain, but it wasn’t the nicest of times, for most of that time. I think it really freed me in a lot of ways. It’s kind of like before all that feels like another lifetime at this point, and I think back to how I felt before that, and I think a big thing I had was like, I just really, it sounds silly, I just wanted everyone to like me.”

I was new to being on TV. This was my dream job since I was a little kid, and I wanted to do it perfectly, and I wanted everyone to like me, and it’s not something I worry about so much in my real life, but this was different. I kind of wanted to micromanage it and make it perfect.”

So then when I would come up short of that, it was very disappointing, and I think coming up short of anything sucks, but doing it in such a public way, and then there are a million people telling you you’re a piece of sh*t or whatever, it’s hard.”

Only time will tell what the future holds for Jack Perry.
