Dynamite was another big night of AEW action with title matches on the show and there to see it backstage was a big name free agent in the wrestling world.

Dynamite took place in North Charleston, South Carolina with the night’s main event seeing Samoa Joe retaining his AEW World Championship against HOOK. There was still a major title change on Dynamite while Mark Briscoe paid tribute to his late brother on the first anniversary of Jay Briscoe’s death.

Fightful Select reported that former NWA Women’s World Champion Kamille was backstage at the show. It was noted that the expectation had been that WWE was going to offer Kamille a deal to join NXT but there has been no confirmation that she has signed that deal. However, it is believed that she was just visiting friends backstage at the AEW event.

Kamille had held the NWA Women’s World Title for 812 days having won the gold from AEW’s Serena Deeb in June 2021. The North Carolina native is married to fellow wrestler Thom Latimer who is still a part of the NWA roster.

AEW Scoop Up Some Big Names

In recent months, AEW has made some huge additions to its roster as the company strives to grow. Adam Copeland shocked the world when he debuted for AEW at WrestleDream. Since then Copeland has been involved in a vicious feud with his old friend Christian Cage and saw him win the TNT Championship for a few minutes at least.

Will Ospreay signed his AEW deal at Full Gear and is now expected to be a part of the roster going forward having finished his NJPW commitments. Katsuyori Shibata also officially signed with Tony Khan’s company having debuted in AEW back in late 2022.

Mariah May was unveiled as a new AEW signing in November 2023 and she has been stuck to the side of AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm ever since. The women’s division was bolstered further with the introduction of former TNA Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo.
