The Street Profits Make Surprise NXT Return
The Street Profits returned to their old home.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were the latest main roster names to cameo on Tuesday nights, appearing on the August 29th episode. the former NXT Tag Team Champions met with current champions Tony D’Angleo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and current NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes. The Profits questioned what was next for Hayes, with the champion looking frustrated at the question.
Continuing the segment, D’Angelo referenced that Ford and Dawkins used to be the champions, which The Profits acknowledged. The tag team then jokingly claimed that they may return in the future to see how the division is doing and might consider a future challenge for the titles.
The segment ended with each of the competitors in the 4-way match to crown a new number one contender for the Women’s Championship brawling behind them.
The Street Profits Are Back With A New Attitude
Despite being all smiles on NXT, Ford and Dawkins have a more vicious edge on the main roster. Swapping the sportswear and solo cups for suits and shiraz, the former Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions have aligned themselves with Bobby Lashley, who is delighted with the change in character. The new Profits made an impact almost immediately, interrupting a tag team match between The Brawling Brutes and The OC on the August 4th episode of SmackDown.
The team look to be together for the foreseeable future, squashing any rumours that a breakup of the act is on the horizon. Montez Ford addressed the rumours in a recent interview, revealing if the idea has ever been pitched to him.
