“Shut Up” – Becky Lynch Reveals Dusty Rhodes’ Last Words To Her
Becky Lynch’s rise as WWE’s top female heel has been sublime.
And what makes it even more remarkable is that she has done it while not even holding a World Championship.
The Man won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship by defeating her compatriot Lyra Valkyria at the Money in the Bank PLE.
Since then, she has defended the title five times, twice during premium live events.
Her rivalry with Valkyria was intense and personal, but it all came to an end at SummerSlam when Bayley’s interference backfired, costing Lyra her final chance at reclaiming the gold.
On the August 18 episode of WWE RAW, Becky Lynch defended the title against Canadian legend Natalia and made her tap out using the Disarm-her.
Lynch continued to assault Nattie and, later, Maxxine Dupri, before Nikki Bella made the save.
Becky Lynch Recalls Dusty Rhodes’ Last Words To Her
One of the reasons why Becky Lynch is so good at what she does is that she has had great mentors.
Dusty Rhodes was one of them.
Rhodes passed away, aged 69, in 2015, and during his time being alive, he imparted great wisdom to many up-and-coming wrestlers.
He also spent his final years as a backstage booker and a producer on WWE NXT, of which Becky Lynch was a part for two years.
During her recent appearance on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, the 38-year-old narrated her final interaction with the ‘American Dream.’
You know your dad’s last words to me, do you know this? I was following him around. I was annoying the sh*t out of him. I was giving him, like, this idea; I was like, “I got this pitch, Dusty.” And he goes, “Shut up, Becky!” And that was it. They were his last words, and I couldn’t ask for better last words. Elsewhere, Becky Lynch had a few nasty parting words for Naomi, but got hit with a reality check. Read about it here.
