Scrapped Plans For Bianca Belair’s WWE Return Revealed
Bianca Belair has been on the shelf since April 2025.
Belair wrestled in one of the best matches of her WWE career at WrestleMania 41, where she faced Rhea Ripley and then-Women’s World Champion IYO SKY for the title.
However, during a spot involving her and Ripley, Belair’s hand got trapped under The Eradicator, resulting in her knuckle getting crushed.
Over several weeks, she provided updates on her injured finger, even mentioning that she could not wear her wedding ring on her ring finger due to the swelling.
Since undergoing surgery a few weeks ago, Bianca Belair has been in rehabilitation. The 36-year-old’s last update revealed that after being functional during therapy, her finger stiffens up again. She also experienced feeling constant pain.
Scrapped Plans For Bianca Belair’s WWE Return Revealed
WWE had been constantly monitoring Bianca Belair’s progress with her injured finger.
As noted by Dave Meltzer in a recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the EST was considered a prominent talent to be featured on WrestleMania 42.
Meltzer’s report claimed that Belair was supposed to challenge Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at the Show of Shows after either winning the Royal Rumble or qualifying via the Elimination Chamber.
That plan has now gone through a shredder owing to Belair’s existing injury complications and recovery process.
Nevertheless, her absence has given other women in the company a platform to establish themselves as viable stars. Another report has revealed that WWE plans on featuring as many as 6 women’s matches on the WrestleMania card in April.
So far, two championship matches have been added to the event, with Rhea Ripley challenging Jade Cargill for the SmackDown title and Liv Morgan facing Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship.
Newly crowned Women’s Intercontinental Champion AJ Lee has made her thoughts known to be featured at The Showcase of the Immortals. She might end up facing Becky Lynch in a title rematch scenario.
