Triple H and WWE could be planning a history-making event with WrestleMania 42.

The Show of Shows will take place on April 18 & 19 in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A handful of matches have already been announced, with the current card looking as follows:

  • CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship
  • Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship
  • Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship

Brock Lesnar is also scheduled for a match, though his opponent has yet to be announced; if not, then it will be an open challenge, as Paul Heyman announced last week.

Triple H Plans To Add Record Number Of Women’s Matches For WrestleMania

According to a report by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WrestleMania 42 could feature a women-heavy card, with two title matches already announced.

There is currently an idea within WWE creative that would see up to six women’s matches make the WrestleMania card, with five of those considered firm plans as we stand.

Triple H adding six women’s matches would break the WrestleMania 36 record, where five bouts featuring female superstars made up the card.

TC noted the women’s significant contributions to storylines over the last few years, while also acknowledging WWE’s interest in continued hiring of free agents.

The women have been the workhorses of WWE over the last couple of years.

They’ve added a lot of free agents, they’ve added women to the roster, tag teams have been emphasized as well, so there’s a lot more room now for women to have a bigger platform in WWE.

There’s been a lot of emphasis on the women’s storylines and the programming. A big portion of the weekly programming on RAW and SmackDown has been women’s matches. [H/T: Ringside News]
