Sami Zayn Names WWE Hall Of Famer He Gets Compared To

Sami Zayn in WWE crowd

As he heads towards the biggest match of his wrestling career, Sami Zayn talked about a WWE Hall of Famer that he gets compared due to their unique looks.

When it comes to Sami Zayn, he can do it all in a pro wrestling ring in terms of having a great match, he can make you laugh in a match like his WrestleMania 38 performance with Johnny Knoxville and he’s able to deliver on the microphone as well.

However, Zayn isn’t like Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns or John Cena in terms of having the look and body that wrestling promoters might consider a “main event look.”

During an appearance on “The Sick Podcast” with Tony Marinaro, Sami Zayn mentioned how WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley’s book “Have a Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks” was inspiring to him in terms of telling his story about how Foley became a WWE superstar.

“Mick Foley was the guy, I read that book cover to cover I can’t even tell you how many times. There’s a kinship there. I do get a lot of comparisons to him with regards to the type of appeal he had and the type of appeal I currently have, which is just kind of a weird charisma that you can’t quite put your finger on because it’s not like conventional wrestling star, movie star good looks, or supreme physique. It’s not the conventional makeup of a wrestling superstar or whatever.”

Sami Zayn would go on to say he was flattered to be compared to somebody like the legendary Mick Foley.

“I’ve gotten that comparison a lot and I’m flattered by it because I think he was tremendous.”

At the WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event this Saturday in Sami’s hometown of Montreal, he will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title in the main event. Here’s the lineup for Elimination Chamber.
