Roman Reigns’ Title Reign Is In Jeopardy Because Of One WWE Star; It’s Not Jacob Fatu

The World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns could be in jeopardy of losing his title to a popular WWE star, who is not Jacob Fatu. The star in question is The Ruler, Oba Femi.

At WrestleMania 42, Oba Femi surprised everyone by beating Brock Lesnar in just under five minutes. The Beast Incarnate seemingly retired by leaving his boots in the ring after the match as well. Following his big win over Lesnar, Oba also put The OTC, Roman Reigns, on his radar. Reigns won the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk in the main event of WrestleMania 42.

It’s not even been a month since Roman Reigns won the title, and there are a lot of speculations about who will be the one to take the World title from The OTC. Many fans believe that Oba Femi could be the one to whom Roman passes the torch by losing the title to him.

Meanwhile, Reigns is slated to defend his World Heavyweight title against Jacob Fatu this weekend at Backlash 2026. Although The Samoan Warewolf is a viable challenger for The OTC, the WWE Hall of Famer, Bully Ray (fka Bubba Ray Dudley) has other ideas on how Reigns should lose his title.

Roman Reigns could be at risk of losing his WWE World title to Oba Femi

Speaking on the Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray (fka Bubba Ray Dudley) claimed that WWE could go all in on Oba Femi and have him beat Roman Reigns for the World title at SummerSlam or even before that:

When was the last time that pro wrestling really went all in on a gut feeling? Should Oba Femi have been that all in guy? Maybe they are going to go all in, maybe at SummerSlam, and they’re just stretching it, but there’s something about Oba, if I’m sitting in the room I would have already said this, ‘Pull the trigger now and if it doesn’t work, we can get back on track.’”

Bully Ray also wondered what if Oba Femi would’ve beaten Roman Reigns for the World Championship after beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42:

Could you imagine if Oba Femi beat Roman Reigns later that night for the championship? There’s your moment… Because Oba beating Brock, we all saw it coming. What we didn’t see coming was the retirement.” [h/t ewrestlingnews]

Only time will tell if Oba Femi will be the one to dethrone The OTC later this year.
