The latest report opened up on whether Roman Reigns is leaving the WWE soon. The OTC is set for a big match at Backlash 2026 this weekend.

After spending two years without holding a title, Roman Reigns is back on top, as he captured the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42 by defeating CM Punk in the main event. The OTC also found his first challenger for the World title in Jacob Fatu. At Backlash 2026 this Saturday, Roman will take on The Samoan Warewolf with the World title on the line.

Ahead of his World title defense at Backlash, there were rumors and speculations that Roman Reigns could be leaving the WWE after the PLE, as he is not advertised for any TV dates in June. Dave Meltzer recently reported that Reigns is not advertised for shows in June because he will not be at the Saudi Arabia PLE next month, so he won’t be there for the show’s build:

Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TV’s building that show”

If he loses the title next week, of course that would be a change and there will be more to the story. If he retains, that’s probably all it is. But Reigns is no longer scheduled for any television in June,” Meltzer noted.

Truth about the rumors of Roman Reigns potentially leaving the WWE

According to the recent report by Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, Roman Reigns is not going anywhere despite the rumors of him being dejected with TKO and his June dates removal:

Roman Reigns isn’t going anywhere. In recent weeks, there were completely unfounded rumors that Roman Reigns was unhappy with TKO and WWE after his June dates were removed after they were promoted in error”

Sean Ross Sapp immediately debunked that rumor, and Wrestlevotes Radio has followed up by reporting that Roman is factored into the creative plans in a big way:

They’re told there is no concern from WWE or TKO about Roman Reigns leaving the company, and his place in WWE is firm. He’s still factored in to WWE creative in a huge way.” [h/t Fightful]

It will be interesting to see if Roman’s World title reign continues after Backlash this Saturday.
