Rhea Ripley’s Title Pursuit Continues After SummerSlam
Rhea Ripley won her third World Championship during the RAW Netflix debut on January 6 by defeating Liv Morgan.
However, her reign lasted only 56 days, as she shockingly lost to Iyo Sky on the March 3 episode of the red brand. Since then, she’s had her eyes set on reclaiming the gold.
Rhea Ripley has had multiple opportunities, as well.
She was Iyo Sky’s challenger at the all-women’s Evolution PLE in July. However, Naomi interfered in the match and cashed in her Money in the Bank contract.
With the match now contested in triple threat rules, she got rid of Ripley first, then hit Sky with a split-legged moonsault for the win.
A match was set up for the trio to compete in, with Naomi defending her newly won title at SummerSlam.
On Night 2 of ‘the Biggest Party of the Summer,’ Rhea Ripley opened the show with Iyo Sky and Naomi at MetLife Stadium.
In a highly entertaining match, Ripley came close to winning the championship multiple times, though Naomi retained her belt after pinning Ripley.
The 28-year-old was recently featured in a short segment during the RAW taping in Quebec, Canada, drawing the ire of a former WWE employee.
