Real Reason Behind CM Punk’s WWE Absence Revealed
CM Punk has been absent from WWE for a month now, and we finally know why.
The Second City Saint last appeared on the April 20 episode of Raw after WrestleMania 42, following his World Heavyweight Championship loss to Roman Reigns, where he had an in-ring segment with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the show.
Amid his absence, Punk was removed from the June promotional material for Raw and also pulled from the upcoming European Summer Tour. This led the WWE Universe to speculate that his hiatus could be due to an injury or a backstage dispute. However, that’s not the case.
Backstage Details On CM Punk’s WWE Absence
According to a report from False Finish, CM Punk’s WWE absence is because of a “schedule change”. He is currently awaiting the creative to dictate his return.
The Stamford-based promotion recently shifted Gunther from Raw to SmackDown to feud with Cody Rhodes and moved Jacob Fatu from SmackDown to Monday Night Raw to feud with Roman Reigns.
Therefore, WWE’s alteration of its long-term direction post-WrestleMania 42 has led to Punk’s planned narrative getting paused.

Word on the street is that Punk could make a surprise appearance as early as the July 6 episode of Monday Night Raw in his hometown of Chicago. Or he could return to TV at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden.
According to WrestleVotes, Punk is locked into major plans for SummerSlam on the August 1–2 weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he is fully expected to be featured on the marquee.
