Great News For CM Punk Fans Despite WWE WrestleMania Setback
CM Punk lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at Night 2 of WrestleMania 42. However, despite the big setback at The Showcase of Immortals this year, there is some great news for Punk that has come to light.
Fightful Select recently shared a report on WWE merchandise sales at WrestleMania, and according to the report, Punk was the top merchandise mover this year. Sean Ross Sapp reported that Punk emerged as the top merchandise seller inside the stadium. The data specifically excludes generic WWE, WrestleMania, and replica title merchandise.
The report also noted that Punk, who main-evented Night 2 of WrestleMania for the first time in his career, has consistently delivered strong merchandise numbers throughout his WWE return run.
Cody Rhodes And Danhausen Drew Major Profits Through WWE Merchandise Sales
Cody Rhodes has been a major merchandise mover for years, and this year his merchandise once again saw strong sales. Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Cody Rhodes, who main-evented his fourth consecutive WrestleMania, ranked second on the in-stadium superstar merchandise list.
To everyone’s surprise, Danhausen ranked third on the list as one of the top merchandise draws in the stadium. His sales reportedly shocked WWE, according to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select. Because of these strong numbers, WWE added him to Fanatics Fest.
Following his loss to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, Punk appeared on last week’s RAW, where he declared that he’s not going away and will be on RAW every week to earn his way back to the top. He also seemingly hinted that he is going after Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship in the near future.
As for Cody Rhodes, reports indicate that despite retaining his title against Randy Orton at WrestleMania, the rivalry is far from over. A rematch is likely to happen at Backlash.
Danhausen is currently embroiled in an entertaining rivalry with The Miz. This past Friday, fans saw Danhausen invade The Miz’s home and cause trouble for the A-Lister.
